2 Samuel 22:29-34 (ESV)
*See note in #2 Investigate It!
v. 29 For you are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. v. 30 For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. v. 31 This God— his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. v. 32 For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? v. 33 This God is my strong refuge and has made my way blameless. v. 34 He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. #2Investigate it!
#3Write it!
On your WordStudy
Sheet, tell in your own words
what you think each verse means.
Use the information you gathered
above to guide you as you think through
each verse. Describe any new understanding
of the story you get from learning
the background information.
#4Apply it!
Now that you have an idea what the verses are saying, how could they apply to you? On your WordStudy Sheet write what you think each verse could mean in your life. Is there something you should do? Or something you need to change? Get "up-close-and-personal" as you think about it! #5Pray!
Ask God to help you do the things you learned about in today's study. Be specific! When we pray specifically, God answers specifically!
#6Share it!
Share your study with your parents or your teacher
and get their feedback on your conclusions.Scripture taken from the ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION (ESV), Copyright © 2001 by Crossway Bibles, a division of Good News Publishers. Used by permission. |
