Questions

Why do many people - not just some scientists - think science and God are unconnected? How has scientific exploration differed between countries that have a Christian background and those that do not?

Other than science, in what other areas of life do people often exclude God?

How do scientific discoveries tell us about God?

Scientists may say their job is to look at "scientific" questions, not "theological" ones (those having to do with God).

According to the Bible, there are not two kinds of truth. There is only one - the kind revealed by God himself.

But God does reveal his truth to us in two ways. One, we see it in his creation. Two, we read it in his word.

The Bible itself tells us that creation is a reliable witness. So we should welcome the exploration of nature and discoveries of science.

At the same time, we must be careful as we interpret what we see. The hearts of humans are deceitful, Scripture says. And one way or another, our observations of the world will be colored by our beliefs about God.

That's why "scientific" and "theological" questions cannot really be separated. God's written word must be our guide - in science as in every other area.
